Excess & Surplus Property Underwriting Course (CE Approved*)

Please join us for a virtual E & S Property Underwriting course led by John Brunette of Zurich North America. This virtual event has been approved for CE credit in DE and PA. It was filed and is pending in MD. 

This course covers critical information needed to complete the underwriting decision-making process for E&S property risk, including:

  • The E&S marketplace and why risks are in that channel
  • The importance of location, modeling, and policy terms as they relate to E&S property placements
  • Why Construction, Occupancy, Protection, and Exposure (“COPE”) are key aspects in E&S Property Underwriting

Attendance/ CE Credit Policy

To qualify for CE credit, students will be required to have cameras operational, and also to participate either orally or via the chat function, and otherwise in compliance with the “Course Guidelines for Classroom Webinar/Webcast Delivery” as adopted by NAIC (August, 2014).

John has worked in insurance carrier underwriting and management roles, as a retail agency producer, a wholesale broker underwriter, and Underwriting Quality Assurance Leader with an MGA firm. John has experience in the Southeast, Pacific Northwest, Southwest, and Midwest markets. He earned the CPCU designation and the Associate in Marine Insurance Management designation in 1989. He has led teams in developing and underwriting portfolios of cargo, hull, marine liabilities, and all Inland Marine classes of business. He is currently a Vice President with Zurich North America in their Wholesale Property practice and serves on the Board for the Mid Tennessee CPCU Chapter as Treasurer.
