Topic: "The Past, Present and Future of the National Flood Insurance Program"
Come enjoy this opportunity to learn a brief history and background of the "NFIP" -- National Flood Insurance Program; the effects of ongoing legislation; and the future of Flood Insurance. We are delighted to welcome Richard J. Sobota, CPCU, Senior Insurance Specialist and Regional CRS Coordinator for DHS/FEMA Region III as our Guest Speaker. The NFIP is due for congressional re-authorization by May 31st, so Richard will be positioned to bring us the latest, reliable information on its status!
Among other duties, Richard serves as a subject matter resource for internal and external National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) stakeholders. His current area of focus includes outreach efforts related to “Closing the Insurance Gap” and building a culture of preparedness. Rich also assumed responsibilities as Regional Community Rating System (CRS) Coordinator in January 2016.
